HTC Evo 4G: Revolutinary Smartphone Capabilities
James Hatton
HTC's next big phone; the HTC Evo 4G, may very well be the next big thing in the smartphone market. This phone has unbelievable potential, and also has the ability to be able to take advantage of Sprint's all new 4G network, which can have speeds of up to 10 times that of the nation's current 3G network. Coming June 4th, at a price of only $199 (after a $100 mail-in rebate and with a 2-year contract agreement through Sprint), the Evo 4G is priced to where you can have a phone with seemingly superior speed features to Apple's Iphone 3Gs and Motorola's Droid, all at around the same cost.
At this time, only select cities have 4G coverage, including Atlanta, Baltimore, Houston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Seattle and others. This doesn't mean that potential Evo 4G buyers should worry though, because insiders at Sprint have claimes that they made the Evo 4G to be the best possibly 3G device, with 4G capabilities. This is a very smart move on their part because if the 4G network fails for some reason, it will still have all the capabilities of a 3G phone and then some.
The Evo 4G boasts a 4.3 inch display which is an impressive .8 inches bigger than an Apple Iphone's display. Since 4G networks have such higher speeds than 3G, that means streaming video and games will be much more widely used on the device. The larger display will create a much richer viewing experience for the user. Also, the phone will make use of a front mounted video camera which can be used for streaming videochats for personal or business use, something that is very rarely seen mobile devices these days.
